Program Details
Dates & Timing:
Each school holiday, OAC will run at least one ROAM program. A ROAM small-group school holiday program runs for a duration of three full days. Daily drop-off is between 9:00 am – 9:30 am, and pick-up is between 4:30 pm – 5:00 pm.
Group size and participant age:
Participants must be between 13 years and 15 years of age. The minimum group size is 10 participants, and the maximum group size is 16 participants. Our Supervision ratio is 1:6, so for a full program there will be a team of 3 ROAM leaders.
Venue & Daily Excursions:
The drop-off and pick-up venue differs from one program to the next, but it is always at a church venue located within the Port Macquarie 2444 postcode. Whilst each day will start and finish at a local Church venue, the bulk of each day will be spent off-site on an excursion, below is the itinerary for our 2025 programs:
Day 1: Morning tea and fish feeding at the Dunbogan boathouse & North Brother hike.
Day 2: Hiking and wild swimming at Ellenborough Falls
Day 3: Climbing morning at COG (climbing, laser tag, and the leap of faith), afternoon movie
Cost:
Our three-day program is valued at over $400 per person, but thanks to the generosity of local churches we can offer our amazing three-day program for only $185 per person total for the three days.
The cost includes; private bus transport throughout the program, hikes facilitated by a qualified and experienced outdoor guide, entry fee for the Centre of Gravity, morning tea + fish feeding experience at the Dunbogan boat shed.
The cost does not include – and thus participants will need to bring with them; food and drink (with the exception of morning tea on day three), sunscreen, and personal medication.
